Phew! I've written a longer text than I'd intended to and still it's but a brief, simplified summary. As you can see, the rules of ''kashrut'' are quite complex. It's hard to imagine anyone even remembering all the minutiae, let alone carrying following them in practice. How do Jews deal with them?
