When in Jędrzejów, Przypkowski helped his father collect, research and design sundials. After his father's death, he took over from him the maintenance of entire the collection , housed in a small museum located next to the town square. He went on to become one the world's foremost gnomonists, or sundial specialists. The sundials placed in some historic landmarks, including St. Mary's Basilica in Cracow, the Royal Castle in Warsaw and the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, are of his design.
